A Letter to Unborn Baby Brother ! !
I am not sure if you will be a girl or a boy but I hope that you are my new little brother. I always wanted a pup or a sibling to play with and then Mommy decided to have you. She tells me you’ll join us in a month. Isn’t that amazing?
I promise I will love you more than any pup in this whole world !!
Today I want to tell you a few things to remember when you grow up. These things are important as a lot of brothers in our country don’t know them. Although Mom and Dad will do their best to teach you all the good habits but there are a few things only I can guide you with. Let’s begin from your childhood…
#1. When you are little, everyone around you is a kid. Not a girl or a boy, just a kid. You can wear pinks and blues because there all are pretty colors. Stick a bow in your hair and walk in golden sandals if you like them and play with dolls if cars and robots are too rash for you. Don’t poke your finger in someone else’s nose. Not even if they ask you to. Wear your hair long or shave them from the side. Nobody cares, you are cute just like that and because you’re a kid.
#2. This is for the time when you start schooling. You’ll sit around girls and boys and learning will be fun. You will notice how some wear pants while others wear skirts. The ones with skirts are called girls and the one with pants are boys. Well, not always. Clothes doesn’t define your gender or what kind of a person you are. Play with everyone. Don’t push anyone off the swing and if girls take a little too much time on them, go play with a ball.
#3. Don’t be mean to girls: Actually, don’t be mean to anyone unless they knock your tiffin off at the lunch break. But be nice to girls, especially the ones in their teenage, as they are dealing with several issues and struggling to overcome shame and low self esteem. Don’t tease them for their weight or an about-to-pop zit. You might want to be friends with a girls. Trust me, they make great buddies.
#4. By now you would be starting to date. A boy or a girl is your choice. Both of them are equally good and both can be a piss-off. But if someone tells you cannot do it, give them an ugly look and do whatever you want to do anyways. But this time also calls for being a little cautious. Don’t indulge or believe in gossip too much. Not everyone who flashes red lipstick is sleeping around. Take consent with your partner and be respectful of their choices. Also, be safe and remember that virginity is not that big a deal. Don’t risk your career for drugs and sex.
#5. You might be expected to get married now or in the coming few years. If you have found the one, nothing like it. If you haven’t, don’t go out looking for them. Work on yourself and the perfect match will present itself. This is also a time where your exes will be getting married. Take that gracefully and hold no grudges. Life is good when you have someone besides you and even if you don’t. Try new things. May be you’ll meet them there.
#6. You don’t need any more advice if you follow the ones I have already given. They will lay a strong foundation for you and let you look at people past their gender. Treat your partner respectfully and never indulge in violence. You both have equal rights and privileges.
If you plan to have children someday, pass on similar teachings to them as well and you’ll make this world a better place to live.
